Josue Sierra-Fonseca, 33, and Juan Maldonado, 63, both of Springfield, were busted Thursday night, May 11, after they were caught trespassing at a vacant apartment at 198 Marion Street, Springfield police said.
Police received a call on Thursday about the break-in and went to scope out the situation. When they arrived at the area, they saw Sierra-Fonseca walk out of a locked door. He tried to run away when he saw the officers, officials said. Springfield police previously trespassed him from the property in September.
Maldonado locked himself in the bathroom when officers entered the apartment, authorities said.
Officers found a large-capacity pistol with 15 rounds of ammunition on the bed. During a search of the apartment, they found 179 bags of heroin, 95 pills filled with cocaine, and $105 in cash, authorities said.
Sierra-Fonseca is charged with:
- Carrying a firearm without a license
- Carrying a loaded firearm without a license
- Improper storage of a large-capacity firearm
- Breaking & entering into a building — daytime for a felony
- Possession of a large-capacity firearm during the commission of a felony
- Possession of ammunition without an FID card
- Possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug
- Possession with Intent to distribute a Class B drug
- Trespassing
Maldonado is charged with:
- Carrying a firearm without a license
- Carrying a loaded firearm without a license
- Improper storage of a large-capacity firearm
- Breaking & entering into a building — daytime for a felony
- Possession of a large-capacity firearm during the commission of a felony
- Possession of ammunition without an FID card
- Possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug
